Song #51: Sweet Thing - Change of Seasons (off Sweet Thing - 2010)

I can’t believe I only just got around to listening to this album today. I bought it two weeks ago and kind of ignored it (ooops!) until a few hours ago when Change of Seasons came on shuffle. I started to dance while sorting my laundry. Anyone who knows me knows how much I hate laundry, and I love anything that makes it more fun. Sweet Thing’s album did that for me today.

It was the first time I’d heard any of those songs - I’m not usually in the habit of buying albums I’ve never heard, but I joined Owen onstage a few weeks ago and developed a total talentcrush. No, no… I didn’t play music with him - we introduced my girl Ruhee’s band Entire Cities together at their Dakota audition. Owen later joined them onstage again for Miss You (a cover so well done that I would have paid for a recording). I wanted to talk to him afterwards but he ran off. Oh well.

I hear they’re going to be the Next Big Thing - good. I get the feeling that the music video for this song is going to see some MuchMusic play, and they’re all fun and handsome enough that the crowd will listen. Plus the song is SO EFFING UPBEAT. Goodness.

Also, I would like to point out that almost I went this entire post without making a Popular Mechanics for Kids reference - Tyler Kyte is Sweet Thing’s VERY able drummer.
