Song #016: Carly Simon - You’re So Vain
This song is a classic - not only are the lyrics amazing, but the IDEA of the song is undeniably one of the most brilliant ever conceived.
I know a guy to whom this song applies. Yes, it’s you. I joked to a friend of mine at the height of my infatuation with him that he would not only think the song was about him, he’d also say, “Yeah, it’s a pretty good song. It needs a better guitar solo though.”
Plus it mentions a trip to the Promised Land. This song has everything. I don’t even need to elaborate.
