Song #31: Francis d’Octobre - Âme Sœur (de Ma bête fragile - 2010)
Continuing with French Week, today’s song comes Montreal’s Francis d’Octobre, who sounds to me a lot like La Belle Provence’s answer to Jason Collett.
I always find it hard to talk about French songs thematically and lyrically like I do with songs in English. There’s often not as much information about the artist online (no wiki pages or fan sites or even lyric pages). I can’t tell you the name of the female vocalist singing backup, but I really like this song - heck, this whole album is great.
The title translates to “Soul Sister,” but this song has nothing to do with that inane Train song (though trains are a recurring theme in the song).
