Song #33: Bernard Adamus - La question à 100 piasses (off Brun - 2009)
I don’t even know how to describe this song. It’s rap? Probably the whitest rap you’ll ever hear. I mean, Canada has its fair share of white rappers (my boyfriend Buck 65, Classified, Snow…) but, as I have no idea as to the state of francophone rap in Canada, I can’t comment on the frequency in which the two sides of the venn diagram intersect. Yeah, I know Buck 65 has a couple of French songs, but they don’t even make up 1% of his material so it doesn’t count.
I don’t even know why I started this post off with with a race emphasis. I kind of regret it, but I don’t have time to erase it because I’m once again going out and need to post this with a promise that I’ll return to edit it tomorrow.
